Bob Marley’s Mellow Mood Tea

Posted by & filed under .

Hitting up the gas station by the house one night to get a tasty beverage, I came across Marley’s Mellow Mood tea. I thought to myself, “Self, are you seriously looking at a Bob Marley beverage in this here gas station cooler? Self, you like Bob Marley, you like tea, and goddamnit you like citrus… you better get this.” Of course I couldn’t help noticing the “all natural relaxation” tag on the can. While I had a (very brief) glimmering hope that Indiana somehow managed to change the law earlier that morning and allow beverages to be strained with dank and old Bob Marley dreads, it turns out that this thing is packed with natural relaxation ingredients (not unlike the legal Drank). Valerian root, lemon balm, chamomile, hops, and passion flower extracts with melatonin… mixed in with a tasty carbonated tea and packaged in everyone’s favorite Rastafarian colors. I was initially skeptical about what this would taste like (would it taste like an old resin ball?), but it’s surprisingly tasty! It just tasted like a mildly citrus carbonated tea. Not sure how to elaborate on that… so you’ll just have to deal with that explanation. But not only is it a tasty beverage, this thing put me out for the night. In the past when going on long plane trips, I’ve taken melatonin to help with jet lag… and that stuff always konks me out and gives me weird vivid dreams. This was like that, but times 3. Of course when rocking this drink, there was a mission to stay awake and get the full Buffalo Soldier effect. The eyes got heavy, ultra relaxation ensued, and I just wanted to kick it and hang out… until I couldn’t hang and just wanted to go to bed. Then I had a vivid dreams about doing jiu jitsu chokes on angry dogs. So anyhoo… I recommend this drink if you’re down for a tasty beverage and want to chill for the night. I wouldn’t recommend drinking one of these during the day or else you’ll fuck up your sleep schedule. Looking forward to trying the other flavors.
